On 30th November, Driscoll will be having lunch with a bunch of pastors and ministry apprentices from Tasmania, Victoria and South Australia. That evening, he'll be doing a big event somewhere in the centre of Melbourne.
Reasons all you Tasmanians should block out your diary, buy the tickets and go:
- If you are a big Driscoll fan, you'll get to hear him live and possibly get to meet him and buy the T-shirt and figurine.
- Even if you're not a huge Driscoll fan, it's a great excuse to go to Melbourne. Melbourne is an awesome city. It has little arcades running through the city centre. It is atmospheric and cultured. It has Carlton and St Kilda.
- Many of the younger members of your congregation are deeply influenced by Driscoll. He's not someone just to ignore. Take the time to sus him out up close and personal.
- This is a fascinating phenomenon. Come out of pure curiosity. Noone cares if you are a Driscoll fanboy or not. Just come and have a stickybeak.
- Driscoll is coming back to Australia to help kickstart an independent, Australian church planting movement. This Australian movement is something that could have a massive influence. Would be a pity for you to not have been there when it all began. This event is not about Driscoll, it's about an Australian church planting movement.
- As someone helping organise it, I'd appreciate you involvement, support, enthusiasm.
- Bring a ministry apprentice with you, to futher encourage them in ministry and to debrief on the whole experience with them.
