Just recently, I stumbled across a couple of very cool training opportunities. They're both set up to train and serve people in quite particular niches.
- Outdoor Ministry Apprenticeships - for people who are nuts about the outdoors and nuts for telling people about Jesus. It's an Anglican Youthworks MTS Apprenticeship thing. Youthworks have some amazing opportunities to minister to young people. Check it out.
- PY Distance Diploma - This is so fresh it hasn't even started yet. Presbyterian Youth (PY) here in NSW has decided to partner with Youthworks to write a diploma-level course (fit for Fee-HELP and Austudy) in theology, which school Scripture teachers could undertake over three years to tool-up for the ministry they're already doing. In fact, if they then want to go on to do a Degree level course at Bible College, it'll count for the first year. They need $500k to make it possible.
